District to Host First Annual Arts and Technology Festival April 27
Grades K-12 student art work will be displayed
By all accounts, 2016-2017 has been an inspired and productive year for the arts in the Hatboro-Horsham School District. The talent, vision and creativity that students in grades K --12 bring to their creations is impressive. To ensure that the community has an opportunity to view the application of the concepts being taught in the curriculum and to showcase these striking creations, the District is hosting The Hatboro-Horsham School District First Annual Arts and Technology Festival on Thursday, April 27, 2017.
The festival will feature visual art work and performance pieces. Art teachers had the difficult job of selecting the works that will be displayed in the gallery from many strong contenders. During the selection process, the goal was to include as many works as possible to honor students’ hard work and artistic efforts.
The festival is an extension of what was previously the Senior High Fine Art/ Tech Ed/ and Family and Consumer Sciences show. While art and technology will continue to be represented, works of elementary and middle school students and live performances have been added.

According to Art Teacher Heather Pasko, the reformatted show will highlight the continuity and progression of students in K-12 art programs and will allow the community to see the impact of arts education on students.
“We also hope to expose more young students to the amazing art work our high school student are doing and inspire and motivate the younger artists to continue their interest in the creative process.”

The event runs from 4—8:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2017. Hatboro-Horsham High School is located at 899 Horsham Road, Horsham. Works of art are displayed in the high school gym and gallery
“K-12 art teachers have been meeting since last year to plan the event and other departments have also jumped in. Our administration has been very supportive and we are looking forward to a great festival,” said Pasko.
