1. What are the top issues currently facing your position and how do you plan to address them?

Twenty years ago, I moved to Hatboro, in part, because of our school district’s great reputation. This is no longer the case. Our district is ranked near the bottom in Montgomery County. We need to take a hard look at the school environment to ensure we are providing an atmosphere where all kids can excel both academically and emotionally.

We have amazing teachers. They need the support and the necessary resources to ready our kids for whatever path they choose once they leave our school.

2. Identify specific goals and ideas you have to enhance life in your position.

I would like to see all students feel welcomed and secure while in our schools. Our district is not alone in having to deal with violence and bullying among students. By putting policies and procedures in place to increase student accountability and increasing communication with parents, we will see improved academic results.

3. What in your experience or background prepares you for election to office?

I have more than 30 years of experience in the human resources field. My focus in HR is to ensure we are providing a culture where employees can excel and grow while supporting business objectives. I am looking forward to utilizing those same skills to support our students, teachers, and administrators to do the great work they all want to do.

In the business world, when programs or projects are not achieving the desired results, you pause, change direction, and re-evaluate the leadership. It’s time we do the same in our district so our kids can reach their potential.
