HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA —So how did you spend your Saturday?

Like many of you, despite the dreary and rainy weather, I ran errands. And where did I do them?

In Horsham Township with a tour of Hatboro for a few more.

I’m the new editor of the Hatboro-Horsham Patch.com site, but somewhat old in a lot of ways.

First off, I'ved lived in neighboring Maple Glen for almost a decade so Horsham Township is one street over from where I live off Norristown Road.

Secondly, I’ve served as a journalist for more than 30 years and worked for Patch in the Lehigh Valley a decade ago.

I currently serve as Local Editor of seven Patch news websites in Lower Bucks County, with the closest in Warminster, so taking over this site from my departed colleague Jon Campisi certainly makes sense logistically.

I started out Saturday driving by my Citizens Bank on Norristown Road, entering Horsham, passing the crossing where people walk to Power Line Park and heading to the corner of Horsham Road to the post office. My favorite bagel store is there too.

Next was gas at the Wawa, one of several I stop at in Horsham, and then to Lancers Diner for breakfast.

On Friday night after work, I tried to catch the borough’s tree-lighting ceremony but just missed it. My wife and I then went to Ollie’s, where she snapped a photo of me. It was pretty crowded so we left.

I don’t know Hatboro as well as Horsham. So I wanted to drive around and walk around York Road. I stopped at the library, took a picture of the tree, and received a tour. What an amazing building!

Then I wandered around the street with all its interesting storefronts. And I went back to Ollie’s and bought a book I wanted and a few Christmas gifts before returning to Horsham for a few more errands.

I really look forward to covering these two towns. I have a great deal to learn about the towns and the issues. So I appreciate your patience, support, help, news tips and story ideas!
