Former Hatboro Councilman Remembered For 'Life Of Service'

HATBORO, PA —Borough officials are mourning the loss of former Councilman John Demcisak.

The Borough of Hatboro announced the longtime resident's passing in a Facebook post late Tuesday.

"John dedicated his whole life to serving the borough and those around him," borough officials said.

Demcisak was elected to the Borough Council in 1979 and served on the board for 12 years, borough officials said.

After leaving the council, Demcisak served two stints on the borough's zoning hearing board.

The first was from 1991-1999 with his second tenure lasting 13 years from 2006 to 2019.

In addition to serving on the council and zoning board, Demcisak also spent several years serving on the Union Library Board, YMCA Board, and Elm Street Hatboro. He was also a member of the Delaware Valley Historical Aircraft Association.

Borough officials did not list Demcisak's age or the date and cause of his death.

"The Borough of Hatboro is incredibly grateful for everything John did for our community over the years and sends our sincerest condolences to his loved ones during this time," borough officials stated.
