Free Sunscreen Stations Set Up At Hatboro Pool
In conjunction with the RDK Melanoma Foundation, Hatboro will have four free stations to promote sun safety during the summer.

HATBORO, PA —The borough is now playing ball with Mike Schmidt.
The Philadelphia Phillies legend and the RDK Melanoma Foundation have donated four free sunscreen stations with the first set up for the summer season at Hatboro Pool.
Borough Manager Diane Hegele said at the Borough Council's recent meeting that the stations come through a grant from the organization that involves Schmidt, the Phillies Hall of Famer who was diagnosed with Melanoma in August 2013.

"If you’re coming to the Hatboro Pool, make sure to grab some free sunscreen from the stations located outside each locker room," the borough said in a recent Facebook post. "We are so thankful to Mike Schmidt and the RDK Melanoma Foundation for helping spread awareness of sun safety."
Schmidt's mission since his involvement with the organization is to save lives through education about the prevention and early detection of skin cancer, especially Melanoma.
