GIANT alerts customers to voluntary recall of PF Chang's Home Menu Dumplings Pork & Leek frozen appetizers

GIANT Food Stores LLC, following a recall by ConAgra Foods, announced it removed from sale PF Chang’s Home Menu Dumplings Pork and Leek frozen appetizers due to undeclared shellfish (shrimp) or fish (Pollock), both allergens, on the ingredient label. This product is safe to consume for individuals who do not suffer from a Crustacean shellfish or fish allergy.

The following product is included in this recall:

• PF Chang’s Pork & Leek Dumplings, 12.5 oz., UPC 3620021215, with use by dates of MAY082014 and MAY092014

GIANT has received no reports of illnesses to date, but people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to shellfish or fish may run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product. Customers who have purchased the product should discard any unused portions or bring their purchase receipt to GIANT for a full refund. 

Symptoms of food allergies typically appear from within a few minutes to two hours after a person has eaten the food to which he or she is allergic. Allergic reactions can include: hives; flushed skin or rash; tingling or itchy sensation in the mouth; face, tongue, or lip swelling; vomiting and/or diarrhea; abdominal cramps; coughing or wheezing; dizziness and/or lightheadedness; swelling of the throat and vocal cords; difficulty breathing; loss of consciousness.
