GOP Party Seeks Candidate To Challenge State Rep. Guenst

Longtime Democratic incumbent State Rep. Nancy Guenst does not have a challenger as of yet in the May primary election.

EASTERN MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — While incumbent politicians in eastern Montgomery County have announced their re-election bids and are gathering signatures to get on the May primary ballot, the GOP party needs a candidate.

The Hatboro Republican Organization seeks a candidate to challenge Democratic State Rep. Nancy Guenst, a stronghold on the legislative front as Hatboro's former mayor and a multiple-elected incumbent.

Guenst is running for re-election in the 152nd Legislative District, which covers Hatboro, Bryn Athyn, Lower Moreland, Upper Moreland, and a portion of Abington Township.

"You're not going to get anybody," Guenst told Patch on Wednesday. "You gotta be goofy. I'm already here six years."

Guenst said she received 66 percent of the votes during the November general election two years ago.

She said that her office in downtown Hatboro is one of the busiest of all legislative offices in the Commonwealth.

"Everyone feels welcome walking through that door," Guenst said.
