Governor Visits Hatboro, Touts Schools And Jobs

Wolf's stop was part of his "Jobs That Pay" Tour.

Gov. Tom Wolf addressed the importance of the connection between education and industry in his Tuesday visit to Hatboro, according to a Montgomery News report.

Wolf visited M&S Centerless Grinding Inc. and spoke with officials at Souderton Area School District, according to the report.

“If you start from the idea of a good job is the best social policy ... let’s work back from that, how do we get there? You invest in education, you invest in processes like this where schools are talking to employers or we invest in community colleges so we don’t have employers saying, ‘I can’t get enough skilled workers,’” Wolf said.

Wolf hopes to achieve this by restoring cuts made to higher education and improving community colleges, traditionally a hotbed from employer-education relationships, according to the report.
