Gregory Macartney, 21, Hatboro-Horsham HS Class of 2012

Rest in peace.

Gregory Macartney Jr. passed away suddenly on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015. He was 21.

Born in Warminster, Pa., he was the beloved son of Gregory Alan Macartney Sr. and Kathleen (Cole) Macartney. He was the loving brother of Jacquelyn and grandson of Kathleen ‘Kay’ and the late John ‘Jack’ Cole and Robert and Margaret Macartney. Also surviving are 12 aunts and uncles and 14 cousins.

He was a 2012 graduate of Hatboro-Horsham High School and attended two years at Millersville University.

Greg spent most of his childhood years growing up in Hatboro. He participated in many athletic organizations, Hatboro Little League from T-Ball to Senior Division. He also played for Hatboro-Horsham Soccer Club, indoor soccer and Hatboro-Horsham Basketball.

He enjoyed being coached in soccer and baseball by both his Poppy and Dad. He was an all around sports enthusiast for all Philadelphia sports teams and also a Penn State fan.

His true passion was playing and watching golf. He especially enjoyed the numerous golf outings with his uncles and friends.

He loved any opportunity to spend time with his younger cousins. They especially loved his imaginative story telling skills.

Greg was a gentle soul with a warm heart and had the gift to make anyone laugh or smile. He will be forever remembered for his tremendous sense of humor that brought laughter and love to so many.

Relatives and friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m., Sunday evening, Nov. 22, at The Decker Funeral Home, 216 York Road, Warminster, and after 9:30 a.m. until his funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m., Monday morning, at Nativity of Our Lord Church, 625 W. Street Road, Warminster. Interment will be held in St. John Neumann Cemetery.
