Hatboro Avoids Tax Increase In 2016 Budget: Report

Hatboro has avoided a tax increase in its 2016 budget, according to a report.

The budget was adapted by a unanimous 6-0 vote during the borough council meeting on December 14, the report states.

The threatened raise was in the real estate tax, which will remain nearly unchanged, according to Montgomery News.

About 45 percent of total spending, or $2.49 million, for 2016 will be for police costs, the report states.

General public works spending and executive expenditures are the next highest costs.
