Hatboro-Horsham Robotics Heads To World Competition

The Hatboro-Horsham robotics team is headed to St. Louis for the World's Competition.

HORSHAM, PA -- It has been quite a season for the local Hatboro-Horsham Robotics FRC Team 708.

Next week they will be traveling to St. Louis, Missouri to compete in their first World’s Competition. They will be playing on Newton Field, competing against teams from all over the United States, Canada, Turkey, Brazil, Taiwan, Mexico, Australia, and Israel in this division.

These high school students and their mentors began their season in January with planning, designing, engineering, fabricating, practicing, and competing in the first stronghold events with their 150 lb robot.

They finished their season last weekend ranked 9th out of 120 teams in the FRC Mid-Atlantic District which qualified them to compete at the World Event.

  • FRC Mid-Atlantic Robotics District Championship: First Round Pick Alliance 7, Ranked 18th at competition. Awards- Volunteer of the Year Award- Team Mentor and Coach- Eric Zygmont
  • FIRST Dean’s List Finalist Award went to student- Thomas Abraham .
  • Westtown Event: Ranked 2nd. Award- Excellance in Engineering Award sponsored by Delphi
  • Springside Chestnut Hill Event: First Round Alliance 2, Ranked 6th .
  • Awards: Entreprensurship Award sponsored by Kleiner, Perkins, Caufield and Byers, District Event Finalist
  • Hosted and Competed- Hatboro-Horsham Event- First Round Alliance Pick 3, Ranked 10th. Awards: Districts Chairman’s Award
