Hatboro-Horsham School Construction Projects Winding Down

HATBORO / HORSHAM, PA — Several school construction projects are winding down and nearing completion.

The Hatboro-Horsham School Board and Administration recently received an update on several projects from Jamie Lynch, Construction Manager from CHA.

At Simmons Elementary School, Lynch said that the Simmons Pool decommissioning project has been fully completed.

The pool has been filled, and the locker rooms have been demolished.

Finance Director Bill Stone reviewed the Simmons elevator construction project, which is expected to be completed by the end of October.

At Keith Valley Middle School, projects included cleaning up the football and baseball field landscaping, placing sod on the fields, and coating the track, which will all be completed in the fall.

The KVMS gym floor, which had moisture-related issues,was also repaired before the start of the new school year.

Hatboro-Horsham High School’s tennis courts were also expected to be completed (weather permitting), following painting and curing.

Stone also said the renovation of an existing office space at the Hatboro-Horsham High School was transformed into a Life Skills Apartment Classroom, which now includes a new kitchen, dining, and laundry space.

Stone presented recommendations to the school board for HHHS sewer pipe replacement to address sunken pipes and flooring.

The district applied for the state’s Public School Facilities Improvement Grant to potentially offset all or some of the project costs.

Stone also presented a recommendation at the school board's August meeting for a Propane Fueling Station Feasibility Study to evaluate options to install a fueling station at the Bus Garage.

School officials said numerous projects were completed this summer.

Those included:

• Building automation service control upgrades at the Hatboro-Horsham High School
• Flooring replacement at Blair Mill, Crooked Billet, Simmons, and the high school.
• Unit ventilator replacements and grease trap replacements
• New domestic hot and cold-water valves at Blair Mill
• Painting at Blair Mill, Simmons, Hallowell, and the high school.
