Hatboro-Horsham School District Announces Hall of Fame Inductees

Five will be inducted at April 11, 2019, Ceremony

HORSHAM, PA---The Hatboro-Horsham High School Hall of Fame, founded in 1990, pays tribute to alumni and others who have served and brought recognition to the district. On Thursday, April 11, the 2019 inductees will be recognized and honored for their outstanding achievements and significant contributions to the district, community and society. The five inductees exemplify the core values and commitment to learning and growth that are the foundation of the Hatboro-Horsham educational experience.

Candidates were selected for the impact they have had in the Arts, Business, Education, Government/Community and Science. The induction ceremony will be held April, 11, 2019. The community is invited.

Dave Bergey

Science teacher, teacher leader, Champion of Learning, athletic coach, mentor and friend, Dave Bergey taught in the Hatboro-Horsham School District for 33 years. He was the architect of the Student Assistance Program, which has had a positive impact on the student body and the culture of the high school. His leadership, passion and vision for helping students continues long after his retirement.

Eric Charran

A graduate of the Class of 1993, Eric Charran serves as Chief Architect at Microsoft with a focus on artificial intelligence, specifically fringe and edge technologies and advanced analytics. His knowledge is in high demand and he is a frequent keynote speaker at events throughout the world. He is also an amazing artist and is interested in comic book digital art.

Erick Long

Erick Long is the Senior Vice President of Events for the Academy of Country Music and a member of the HHHS Class of 1987. He is responsible for several components of the Academy of Country Music Awards, the ACM Honors and the Producer of the ACM Party for a Cause Festival. He oversees event productions, the red carpet, talent logistics, sponsors, board meetings, internship and volunteer programs for the Academy. Prior to his role with ACM, he spent six years at Universal Studios in Hollywood where he managed large scale events.

Mike Mignogna

Mike Mignogna graduated from HHHS in 1981 and has led an exemplary life of service as a member of the armed forces. He serves as a Chief Warrant Officer 4 (CW4) in the United States Army. CW4’s are rare in the Army, yet invaluable to its functioning. He has been deployed seven times to various parts of the world and has held every position in military leadership from Captain, Headquarter Commander and Company Commander. As a wartime pilot, he has flown over 2,000 combat hours and was recruited to pilot the C-12 ISR aircraft during important wartime missions.

Alan Porter

A member of the Class of 1995, Alan Porter’s passion for baseball combined with his persistence and dedication to the sport, fueled his meteoric rise in the sports industry. At age 41, he has acquired seven years of major league service and he is one of only 68 full time umpires in Major League Baseball. His special assignments have included: the All Star Game, Wild Card games, four Division Championship series and one League Championship Series. He continues to give back to the community by volunteering to speak at numerous youth league programs and umpiring clinics for young men and women interested in chasing the same dream that he did.

Plan to attend

Everyone is invited to attend The Hall of Fame ceremony that will take place on Thursday, April 11, 2019, at 9 A.M. at Hatboro-Horsham High School, 899 Horsham Road, Horsham, PA.

The ceremony is free. Following the ceremony, a catered luncheon to honor the inductees will be served at 11:30 A.M. The community is invited to attend the luncheon and the cost is $20.00 per person.
