Hatboro-Horsham School Evacuated Over Found Military Gear

School officials say that the items discovered included what appeared to be a gas mask, helmet and a grenade.

HATBORO, PA — Hatboro-Horsham High School was evacuated Friday morning after school officials say they found a stash of military-style items including a gas mask and what looked like a grenade there.

In a social media post, school district officials said "a surplus of military items," including a helmet, gas mask and souvenir grenade, were discovered. Police were called and able to determine that the items "were not real, nor were they of danger," officials said.

The evacuation was done as a safety precaution and in following the school district's protocols.
