Hatboro-Horsham Senior Wins $10k Scholarship Competition

Congratulations, Jillian Yagoda!

Horsham, PA -- A graduating Hatboro-Horsham senior who attended preschool in Horsham has won a massive scholarship competition hosted by her old school.

Jillian Yagoda, of Maple Glen, is the winner of the eighth annual, $10,000 Anthony A. Martino Memorial Scholarship, according to the school.

The scholarship is awarded to one candidate who has exemplified the work ethic and perseverance, the Goddard School said.

"Jillian’s thoughtful entry demonstrated how The Goddard School made an impact on her academic beginnings as well as her continued success beyond preschool," the school said.

Jillian graduated from the Pre-K program at The Goddard School located in Horsham 2003.

In the fall of 2016, she will attending The University of Maryland and will study Animal Science.

The winner was determined from among three finalists by a public vote on Facebook.

As a middle-schooler in 2011, Jillian was featured by Patch for her dedication to animals and her aspirations to become a veterinarian

In seventh grade, the Keith Valley Middle School graduate designed and printed 250 pet emergency decals that homeowners can buy and place on front and rear doors to notify first responders that pets live in the residence.

The Goddard School is a preschool focusing on learning through play for children from six years old.

Anthony A. Martino was the founder of The Goddard School franchise system.
