Hatboro Seeks Candidates For Open Boards, Commissions

HATBORO, PA —The borough wants you to serve.
Hatboro officials are accepting letters of interest for various boards and commissions until 10 a.m. Monday.
The letters of interest should be submitted to Borough Manager Diane Hegele at dhegele@myhatboro.org.

They should include the following information: Name, Address, Board or Commission of Interest, and why you are interested in volunteering for your community.
As discussed by the Borough Council at its December and January meetings, the borough has vacancies on the following Commissions:

- Upper Moreland Hatboro Joint Sewer Authority Board: The UMHJSA Board assists in the operation of the sewer authority. There is one 5-year term available.
- Library Board: The mission of the Union Library Board is to provide all of the members of the community and serviced areas with access to materials that will fulfill their cultural, informational, educational, recreational, and technological needs. There is one 1 year term available.
- Historical Commission: The Historical Commission participates in the overall management of historical preservation projects when directed by Borough Council and meets the first Tuesday of the month. There is one 3-year term available.
- Human Relations Commission: This board meets as needed to prohibit discrimination in employment, housing, commercial property, and public accommodations within the Borough. There are two 3-year terms available.
- Environmental Advisory Council (EAC): The EAC serves to educate and inform Borough residents about issues of environmental importance to the community and meets the first Monday of the month. There are three terms available (one 3 year, one 2 year and one 1 year)
- Parking Commission: The Parking Commission oversees the orderly development and maintenance of adequate public parking facilities, both on public streets and off-street, within the Borough limits. The Commission advises Borough Council on matters concerning the operations and maintenance of parking facilities owned or leased by the Borough of Hatboro. There are three terms available (one 1 year term, one 2 year term, and one 3 year term)
