Hatboro Woman Pleads Guilty to Purchasing Deadly Heroin
Carly Stevenson faces as many as 12 years in prison for providing the heroin that killed her boyfriend last year.

A 28-year-old Hatboro woman faces as many as 12 years in prison for providing the heroin that killed her boyfriend last year.
Carly Stevenson on Monday entered an open guilty plea to the charges related to the heroin-induced death of her boyfriend in September 2013, the Intelligencer reported.
Charges, which include involuntary manslaughter and purchasing and delivering heroin to another, were amended from the initial felony charges of drug delivery resulting in death. If convicted of the initial charges, Stevenson would have faced as many as 40 years in prison.

The charges stem from the Sept. 29, 2013 death of 19-year-old Brandon Cron, who authorities said was Stevenson’s boyfriend. Hatboro Police responded to an apartment in the 100 block of North York Road in the early afternoon hours of Sept. 29 for a report of an unresponsive person.
Stevenson made the call, saying her boyfriend was “blue in the lips, cold to touch and not breathing,” according to information released by the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office. Police and EMS found Cron dead upon their arrival.

Authorities allege Stevenson supplied the heroin to Cron the day before his death. After Cron died from using the substance, Stevenson “tried to dispose of evidence before the police arrived at the scene,” according to authorities.
Police found syringes and blue wax paper bags stamped with “I’ma Boss” and “Primetime” outside the apartment in a trash can, authorities said.
A forensic pathologist determined Cron died as a result of an adverse reaction to heroin, according to the DA’s office.
