Hazmat Incident At Hatboro Daycare

Police said that Hatboro KinderCare was evacuated Friday after a Hazmat incident was reported for the mixture of chemicals.

HATBORO, PA —A Hazmat incident led to the evacuation Friday afternoon of the Hatboro KinderCare, police said.

Hatboro Deputy Police Chief Mark Ruegg told Patch Friday that the Hatboro KinderCare at 378 S. Warminster Rd. was evacuated after cleaning products were inadvertently mixed together.

Ruegg said that children and staff were evacuated into a neighboring building.

KinderCare was cleared by the fire department and the building was determined to be safe for staff and children to return, Ruegg said.

Out of an abundance of caution KinderCare chose to close early for the day, he said.

No one was injured.

The Emergency Alerts of Southeastern Pennsylvania reported on its Facebook page about the alert just after 1 p.m. Friday.

Engine 95, Squad 95, Ladder 95, Bucks Ladder 90, and Quint 15 were dispatched to the scene.

A call to the daycare center in Station Park by Patch was not answered.

The daycare center serves children between the ages of six weeks to 5 years old.
