HH High School Student Council to Host First-Ever Mini-THON

Event will be held Saturday, May 13, 2017

On Saturday, May 13, 2017, Hatboro-Horsham High School will host its first-ever Mini-THON, a dance marathon to raise money for pediatric cancer research and support children diagnosed with cancer and their families. The driving force behind the initiative is the HHHS Student Council.

Mini-THONs, which replicate the Pennsylvania State University Dance Marathon (THON) on a smaller scale, donate the money raised directly to the Four Diamonds Fund, which uses the donations to provide care and support to children with cancer being treated at Penn State Children’s Hospital and to fund innovative cancer research More than 235 school in five states participate in Mini-THONS. These schools work alongside THON and the Four Diamonds Fund to raise awareness and find a cure for Pediatric Cancer.

Hatboro-Horsham students have set a goal of raising $15,000 dollars and are more than half way to their goal. More than 120 students have already signed up to attend the event. Those attending are required to raise a minimum of $50. The event runs for six hours and participants remain on their feet the entire time. Games, music and food help to keep the participants energized.

The community is encouraged to save the date, May 13, 2017, from 4 – 10 p.m. at Hatboro-Horsham High School, 899 Horsham Road, Horsham, PA. The first hour of the event will include family-friendly games for kids of all ages.
