HHHS Student Council Feeds Friends for More than a Decade
Community-wide food drive run by the HHSD HS Student Council.

Feed-A-Friend is a community-wide food drive run by the Hatboro-Horsham High School Student Council. Through this campaign, students provide food for the holidays to almost fifty families with students enrolled in the District.
The Feed-A-Friend program was established in 2006. Since then, this campaign has helped more than 1,000 Districts students and their families during the holiday season. In the early years, the Council provided food to families in need in the Hatboro-Horsham community. More recently, the group has shifted its focus to families of students attending Hatboro-Horsham Senior High School. Although the number of families that are helped has decreased, Council now provides the families it helps with larger quantities of food, which will last for approximately one month. This year, Council’s goal is to assist 50 families. Student Council advisors work with Hatboro-Horsham High School’s guidance counselors to create a list of families who will benefit from support during the holiday season.

Until 2014, Feed-A-Friend relied on assistance from members of the local community. However, in the past few years the number of students participating in Student Council has grown tremendously. The students and Student Council advisors take full control of all aspects of the Feed-A-Friend campaign. This year, more than two-hundred Student Council members are dedicated to supporting this cause.
