A full tuition and housing college scholarship for golf caddies

Hatboro-Horsham High School senior John 'Jack" McCormick was recently notified that he was awarded the Chick Evans Scholarship for Caddies, a full tuition and housing college scholarship for golf caddies that is renewable for up to four years. Each year, deserving caddies from across the country attend college on a four-year scholarship from the Evans Scholars Foundation. Selected applicants must have a strong caddie record, excellent grades, outstanding character and demonstrated financial need. McCormick plans to enroll in Pennsylvania State University and pursue a finance major in the Smeal College of Business. McCormick began caddying in 8th grade to make pocket money. At the time, he did not realize how that decision would impact his life. He is currently a caddie at Manufacturers' Golf and Country Club in Fort Washington. McCormick is one 285 caddies nationwide to receive the Chick Evans Scholarship this spring. Upon hearing the news, McCormick said, "I was in shock. The full tuition andhousing scholarship is life-changing for me and my family. My future is nowchanged forever."
