Home Catches Fire In Horsham

Breaking: Crews responded to the scene of a residential fire in Horsham late Friday morning.

HORSHAM, PA — Crews from several area municipalities responded to the scene of a fire at a Horsham home late Friday morning.

The incident began at around 11:25 a.m. on Shetland Circle near the intersection with Hunt Drive, according to Montco PA Active Incidents.

The area contains many rowhomes that are attached together. It's not yet clear in which home the fire started.

Firefighters on the scene encountered "heavy" fire in the basement, according to MontCo Fire Wire and scanner reports. The blaze then swiftly rose up to the second floor of the home.

Horsham Fire Company is joined on the scene by Barren Hill, Wissahickon, Flourtown, Fort Washington, Willow Grove, George Clay and Narberth fire companies.

EMS units from the Horsham Fire Co. Ambulance Corps also responded to the scene. It's not yet clear if there are any injuries or how extensive they may be.

Authorities said that residents should expect delays and local road closures.
