
HORSHAM, PA -- Horsham Township has approved its first ever K-9 unit, officials announced Wednesday.
Council members voted to create the unit at a recent meeting.
The Horsham Police Department will be acquiring two Police Dogs in the coming months, officials said.

The dogs will then undergo training, which will mainly involve patrol duty as well as explosives and narcotics detection, according to Horsham ChATs.
Police are currently selecting K-9 partners for the dogs, and purchasing equipment needed for the hounds.
