Horsham Aviation Museum Proposes $24 Million Renovation Project
The Wings of Freedom Museum in Horsham seeks to create a facility to rival the Smithsonian.

Officials with the Harold F. Pitcairn Wings of Freedom Museum in Horsham unveiled a $24 million renovation project during a fundraising event last week, according to philly.com.
The aviation-dedicated museum is located on Route 611 in Horsham, on the grounds of the Willow Grove Naval Air Station, which has been closed since 2011, with a portion still used by the National Guard as a drone station.
Once completed, the expanded museum will feature a 33,500 square-foot, solar-powered building hosting artifacts and aircrafts dating back decades. The Wings of Freedom Museum is operated by Delaware Valley Historical Aircraft Association, which will seek to raise the funds necessary to get the project off the ground.
