Horsham Camp Invites Community to June Supper
The 83rd annual event will be held on June 4 at the camp, which is located in Horsham Township.
The greater Philadelphia community is invited to meet, eat and have a great time with kids’ games, face-painting and more when the College Settlement Camp throws open its proverbial doors for all.
Set for June 4, the 83rd annual dinner doubles as an opportunity to get to know the camp’s new Executive Director Rob Kutzik, who took the reins of the 235-acre camps on Feb. 16.
“It’s a great time for people to come and meet the new executive director,” said Jan Finnegan, Director of Development for the Summer Camps at College Settlement and the Outdoor School in Horsham. “It’s even more of an opportunity for the community.”

The camp recently held a volunteer cleanup event and open houses for campers and their families. But, the June Supper is traditionally the time for campers and non-campers alike to come share a meal and learn more about what College Settlement Summer Camps have to offer. Students that spent time with the Outdoor School in Horsham during the school year bring their parents and siblings to show them where they stayed.
Speaking of tradition, the meal is steeped in it. Chicken has been the main menu item for 83 years. In addition, a salad bar, pasta salad, steamed vegetables, lemonade, iced tea and vanilla ice cream with strawberries and chocolate chip cookies finish out the home-style meal.

The nonprofit camp does not charge a ticket price for the meal as it is truly a community event and up to each participant what they would like to pay, Finnegan said of the “very welcoming” atmosphere.
The camp rents a large dining tent to house as many as 400 June Supper attendees, who, in addition to good food, enjoy hay rides, kids’ activities and chances at raffle baskets chock full of family -themed goodies.
The June Supper is the precursor to camp opening, which this year is June 22. Camp continues through Aug. 15.
