Horsham Fire Marshal Warns Of 'Fire Extinguisher Scam'

Individuals claiming to be with the fire marshal or fire department are plaguing Horsham area businesses, asking for money.

HORSHAM, PA -- The Horsham Fire Marshal's Office is warning of a scam that has allegedly hit several area businesses and municipalities in which individuals falsely claim to be fire inspectors.

They typically request $20 to $200 in cash in order to inspect fire extinguishers or fire alarm systems.

They then claim that the township will shut down the business if they do not pay for the work to be completed.
