Horsham Hawks Football Get Next Level Training From a Pro

USA Football NFL Ambassador Mike Mohring visited the Hawk's Nest this week.

Horsham Hawks Football teams recently got a special visit from USA Football NFL Ambassador Mike Mohring at the Hawk’s Nest. Mohring played for a total of 7 years in the NFL with the San Diego Charges, Oakland Raiders and Miami Dolphins. Mike played his high school ball at West Chester East High School and was recruited by the University of Pittsburgh before entering the NFL.

The Hawks players gathered around to hear Mike discuss the importance of education, not hanging with a negative crowd and how to overcome injuries. After their pep talk, the players showed their special guest the important Heads Up Football techniques they learned throughout the season. Each player was able to meet with Mike one-on-one for photos and an autograph.

The Hawks volunteer coaching staff are all USA Football Level 1 Certified in concussion recognition and response, hydration protocols, equipment fitting instruction and Heads Up Tackling techniques for safer play. The organization has First Aid, CPR/AED certified members, a dedicated Equipment Manager and a Player Safety Coach on staff.
