Montco police chiefs and other leading officers and supervisors recently attended an "Emotional Survival" training course in Horsham.

HORSHAM, PA -- Around 75 Montgomery County police chiefs and other leading officers and supervisors recently attended an "Emotional Survival" training course, authorities said.
The event was led by Kevin Gilmartin, Ph.D., a retired police officer and police psychologist who served publicly for 20 years and now teaches around the world.
Gilmartin has written a book entitled Emotional Survival, and now consults with a wide variety of agencies. His training aims to "aid officers and their families in maintaining and improving their quality of life both personally and professionally" in the wake of traumatic experiences.
