Horsham Library Celebrates 20th Anniversary

HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA —Happy 20th anniversary.

The Horsham Township Library has turned 20 and township officials have some special birthday presents in mind for its Babylon Road facility.

Township officials said the library's roof and siding will be replaced. The township is also adding solar roof panels that will fully power the library with cleaner energy.

"We are blessed with an amazing staff of librarians, clerks, and support staff that provide the best services and programs," township officials said.

Benefits of the library include the staff, the facility, the collection, programs, museum passes, discount tickets, community meeting rooms, teen action board, adult programs, test proctoring, family programs, senior programs, and much more.

In other township business:

• The council unanimously approved a five-year contract for workers represented by AFSCME, which includes township and police department secretaries and clerks. The workers will receive wage increases of 4 percent in each year of the contract and will have a PPO health care plan with higher copays instead of an HMO.
• The council unanimously approved a resolution designating 20 acres at 515 Lower State Road to be added to Horsham’s Agriculture Security Area. It is the first step to protecting the land from development.
