Horsham Little League Fields Hit By Irene

The group, which plays at Deep Meadow Park, has work to do before the fall program begins.

The lower fields of Horsham Little League "took a beating" during Hurricane Irene's fury this weekend, according to Kevin Wall, the league's president.

In an e-mail to Patch, Wall said the fall program is set to begin in less than two weeks. But, before it can get underway, officials will need to address numerous issues including:

  •  Field 5: A toppled over outfield fence and third base fence, a missing dugout bench from third base and an infield piled on the sidewalk.
  • Field 6: First base fence is gone.
  • Field 11: Backstop and base fences were both damaged.
  • Field 8: Third base fence damaged.
