Horsham Man Jailed For Death Of woman In 2014 Accident: Report

The man reportedly swung into the incoming lanes of traffic to get around slower moving cars.

A Horsham man will spend time in jail for an accident that caused the death of a New Britain woman in July 2014, according to a story by The Intelligencer.

Dylan A. Bruner, 28, was sentenced to 11.5 to 23 months in jail had apologized extensively in court for the accident that killed 69-year-old Maureen Chapman, the report states.

“The defendant’s selfish and reckless conduct ripped a hole in the Chapman family that no amount of apologies or time will ever truly mend,” county Deputy District Attorney Samantha L. R. Cauffman said, per The Intelligencer.

Bruner will be required to share his experience at teen driving programs and pay $11,251 in damages to the estate of Chapman, according to the report.

The incident occurred on July 10, 2014 at about 10:15 p.m. when Bruner became frustrated with slow traffic and swung into the oncoming lanes to go around slower cars, the report states. He hit Bruner’s car as she came over a hill, killing her, per the report.
