At its July meeting, Horsham Township Manager Bill Walker said the township has not come across many business owners like Friedman.

Walker said Friedman always maintained close ties with the Horsham Community and worked with the Rotary Club, the township, the school district, the military base, and other organizations to make Horsham a better place to live.

Friedman has raised more than $150,000 for community groups and different causes, officials said.

“We were fortunate to have you for 40 years,’’ Walker said.

Friedman will continue working at Horsham Square as it transitions to new ownership under pharmacist Manan Patel.

In August 2019, Friedman returned to his Horsham Square Pharmacy location at the Horsham Corner Shopping Center at 575 Horsham Rd.

He had originally opened his store there in August 1986 and over the years was situated in three different storefronts there.

In 2003, he had the chance to relocate his business to Ann’s Choice in Warminster.

After a 16-year hiatus, he returned to Horsham.
