Horsham Talk To Address Kids And Stress

The discussion will include ways parents and educators can "guide young people toward healthy ways to cope with stress."

HORSHAM, PA — An upcoming talk in Horsham by a clinical psychologist will address the types of stress faced by today's young children and adolescents.

Dr. Matt Bellace will speak Thursday, Jan. 24, at Crooked Billet-Hallowell Learning Community. The presentation, titled "Kids & Stress," will begin at 6:30 p.m. The event is free and baby-sitting will be provided.

Parents of children in kindergarten through eighth grade are invited to attend, as well as local educators. The interactive presentation will address stresses experienced by students at those ages, both nationally and specifically in Hatboro-Horsham.

The discussion will include ways that parents and educators can "foster resiliency and guide young people toward healthy ways to cope with stress, rather than experimenting with substances or engaging in other risk-taking behaviors."

Bellace has a degree in clinical neuropsychology (the study of the brain and behavior), is a member of the National Speakers Association and the author of the book "A Better High."
