Horsham Voted As One Of Safest Places To Live

HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA —The township has been named as one of the safest places to live in Pennsylvania.

Horsham officials said the township was ranked No. 48 out of 2,560 municipalities safest places to live in Pennsylvania, according to an" FBI crime statistics list recently published.

This recognition reflects our community's dedication to safety and well-being," officials said. "Thank you to our Police Department, Horsham ChATs, and our community members for working together to ensure Horsham Township is not only great —but a safe place to live, work, and play.

In other township business, Horsham Township Council at its June 24 meeting:

  • Approved an amendment to the contract for Alrows LLC for right-of-way acquisition services for the Horsham Road and Limekiln Pike intersection improvement project. Alrows will be paid an additional $30,062 to complete the work, which is taking longer than anticipated.
  • Unanimously granted a waiver of land development plans to the Hatboro-Horsham School District to construct a pavilion at the Jarrett Nature Center. The 30x30-foot pavilion will be constructed over an outdoor classroom and allow students to attend classes there in inclement weather.
  • Passed a resolution for a public hearing at 7 p.m. July 22 for an easement on township-owned property such as the police department building and the township building to PennDOT. The easements will facilitate the work on the Horsham Road and Limekiln Pike intersection improvement project.
