House Fire In Horsham Township Under Investigation

HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA —A house fire on Limekiln Pike on Sunday afternoon is under investigation, authorities said.

Horsham ChATs said the Horsham Township Fire Company was dispatched to an unknown fire at 1:46 p.m. Sunday at the 900 block of Limekiln Pike.

The call was upgraded due to the multiple calls received by passing motorists reporting a working house fire, Horsham Community Policing Services said.

Fire crews found heavy fire in the front and side of the property.

Fire crews brought under control within the hour. All occupants safely evacuated the home and no fire personnel were injured, Horsham ChATs said.

The family was assisted at the scene by our Department of Emergency Management personnel and the American Red Cross.

The fire is currently under investigation by our Fire Marshal's Office.

Horsham ChATs said there was no further information to report on a suspected cause of the fire.

It was a busy day for the township's fire company with other calls on Sunday:

  • 5:25 p.m. —Vehicle Rescue with Station 88 Welsh and Jarrettown Roads.
  • 7:09 p.m. —Fire Investigation at the 0 block of Walnut Drive.
  • 7:25 p.m. —Vehicle Rescue with Station 35 at Easton Road and Home Depot Drive.
  • 10:11 p.m. —Vehicle Fire on Horsham Road and Chestnut Lane.
  • 4:35 a.m. Monday —Wires down in the roadway on Welsh and Cedar Hill roads.

The downed wires were caused by a brush fire, closing Welsh Road between McKean Road and Cedar Hill Road, officials said.

There was a power outage in the Hideaway Hills section of Horsham impacting 92 homes from the downed power lines.

PECO restored power to most of the homes early Monday morning, officials said.
