Taking all available data, Neighborhood Scout applies a mathematical algorithm that estimates the total number of crimes and crime rates for each neighborhood, with nearly 90-percent accuracy.

Overall, Hatboro area scores a 76 out of 100 on the crime index, with 100 being the safest.

Horsham scores a 67.

The numbers signify that Hatboro and Horsham are safer than 76 and 67 percent of cities in the United States, respectively.

Nearby Norristown, meanwhile, scored a 13, and was listed as one of the nation’s 100 most dangerous cities.

The Haboro data states that there are 2 violent crimes and 72 property crimes committed annually, and the violent crime crime rate of 0.27 per 1,000 residents is far below the Pennsylvania average of 3.35.

Horsham, meanwhile, has 22 violent and 159 property crimes per year, with a similarly low violent crime rate of 1.48.

The likelihood of finding yourself a victim of violent crime in Hatboro is 1 in 3704. In Horsham it’s 1 in 675.

There are 52 crimes per square mile in Hatboro and 33 in Horsham, compared to a state average of 58 crimes per square-mile and the national average of 37.9 crimes per square mile.

  • Bethel Seminary of the East / Easton Road

In Horsham, the Town Center area is the only area with higher crime rates.

County Line Road and the Borough Center of Hatboro are even safer, while Hallowell and Bonair are the safest neighborhoods.

In Horsham, Maple Glen is the safest, followed by the Witmer Road / Business Center area.

Aside from Norristown, Camden, New Jersey was ranked 1st, Chester, Pennsylvania 2nd, and Atlantic City 8th.
