Horsham officials addressed specific areas where traffic will worsen, and how public transit will be affected.

Horsham officials addressed the impact of the upcoming Papal visit on the borough Tuesday, citing the effects of the visit on traffic patterns and mass transit.
“The most obvious impact will be traffic, and lots of it,” the Horsham police community services (ChATs) said in an announcement on Facebook Tuesday.
Although Horsham may seem distant from the epicenter of events in Philadelphia and southeastern Montgomery County, the massive influx of visitors for the World Meeting of Families and the Papal visit will cause traffic throughout the tri-state area.

Specifically in the Hatboro and Horsham area, residents should expect higher than normal volume on Routes 611, 63, and 309, especially on September 26 and September 27, according to Horsham ChATs.

The key word we must all embrace is patience; especially when you are out on the roadways. It will simply take longer for you to get from point A to point B. One tip would be to consider doing your weekend errands during the week and limiting your driving between Friday and Sunday. If you are planning on going down to Philadelphia during the Papal visit, take public transportation. But you must understand exactly how it works to avoid unplanned delays or frustrations.
