Jaguar Sculpture Coming Soon To Horsham Township

HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA —The township will display its own Jaguar sculpture soon.

But Wednesday, Township Manager Bill Walker and officials got a sneak peek at the sculptures while attending the Elmwood Park Zoo Centennial Prowl Reveal Event.

"Horsham was delighted to support the Zoo’s centennial and their master plan," officials said in a Facebook post "We are all connected even to the wild animals that we share this planet with."

Township officials are expected to bring home the Horsham Jaguar soon to display it at the Horsham Township Library.

"The square shapes on our jaguar symbolize our solid and strong community," officials said. "Woven together, these squares are representative of the connection between our residents, businesses, schools, and civic groups. The openings left within the squares represent our open and welcoming community.

Zoo officials had appeared at a Township Council meeting last March to discuss their "Centennial Prowl Art Installation Movement" to set "jaguars loose" across Montgomery County.

The project isn't real jaguars, of course, but uniquely-themed sculptures that will be displayed countywide, zoo officials said.

The Township Council presented the zoo with a $10,000 check which will sponsor a jaguar sculpture designed by a local artist.

The sculpture will serve as a local attraction and community photo-op at the Horsham Township Library through 2026, township officials said.
