It is with great sadness that the family and friends of Jake Charles Mealey announce his unexpected passing on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at the age of 22. Jake will be lovingly remembered by his father, Fred, and step-mother, Joan. Jake will also be forever remembered by his grandparents, Grace and Charles Sterner; girlfriend, Kelsey Roy; and numerous aunts, uncles, and extended family and dear friends.
Jake lived a full and amazing life. He was loved by those fortunate enough to know him. In the short time he was here on earth he worked hard and played harder. Through his determination and hard work, Jake achieved everything he wanted. His love for life and perseverance lead him to be a successful, handsome, young man with a bright future. Those that were closest to him know of his amazing and infamous sense of humor and incredible smile. He consistently entertained his friends and family with songs and pictures. We will remember his devoted love for both his family, friends, and girlfriend. Jake loved to hang with the boys, argue about football with his dad, and spend time planning his future with Kelsey. He loved skateboarding and writing songs with his best friends in his grandparent’s basement growing up.
Jake was raised and educated in the Upper Moreland area. He was a graduate of Upper Moreland High School in 2014. Jake was an only child. He was passionate about music, movies, video games, and skateboarding and dreamed of having a family of his own in the next few years. He lit up the room with his incredible smile. What a blessing it has been to have him in our lives. You have honored us Jake; walk with your mom and Chris now. Thank you for lighting up our lives so much. You’ve taken a small piece of each of us with you and we will never forget you. The ones that love us never really leave us. We only part to meet again. We love you.
