The Jarrett Nature Center is Hatboro-Horsham School District's Outdoor Classroom. It benefits students, teachers and the community. The community is invited to celebrate with JNC and observe Earth Day by attending the Earth Day Celebration on Saturday, April 22, 2017, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Family-friendly activities
JNC has organized a fun-filled day for families who can observe, discover and explore the center’s four ecosystems, including: woodlands, wetlands, the meadow and pond. A scavenger hunt, face painting, games, nature crafts are just some of the organized activities that will be available.

About JNC
JNC was named and dedicated as Hatboro-Horsham’s Outdoor Classroom in April 2002. Prior to ownership by the District, it was part of the Jarrett family farm, including the home, farm buildings, cropland, and pasturelands. Before its formal recognition and dedication as a nature center, the area of approximately 13 acres was informally used by some of the adjacent elementary school and high school teachers and students for class field trips for science and other subjects. Several years of planning by administrators, teachers and the Simmons Home and School Association (HSA) resulted in setting aside this area as a preserve and as a dedicated environmental education area for use by the Hatboro-Horsham School District and the community.
