John Lee Walter is a Role Model to Students of Any Age
The "perfect guy" to have in the classroom
North Wales, PA (October 12, 2016) – Lee Walter, from Black Eddy, PA, has joined Lakeside as an Industrial Arts Instructor for Lakeside School located in North Wales, PA.
“Lee has a natural ability to connect with students,” says Peter Dillard, program director of Lakeside School. “He is patient, kind, calm and intelligent.”
Walter earned his bachelor of science in Residential Construction Management from Pennsylvania College of Technology (an affiliate of Penn State University) located in Williamsport, PA.

“The opportunity to teach students woodworking and the carpentry trade is why I chose to work at Lakeside School,” says Walter. “I am looking forward to building relationships and real connections with the students and the staff.”
“Lee is a problem solver with a mind tuned to details,” continues Dillard. “He is the 'perfect guy' to have in the classroom and is a great addition to our staff.”

Prior to Lakeside School, Walter worked as a woodworker at American Music Furniture.
Lakeside, a long-standing nonprofit serving the needs of over 2500 students annually throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania, provides a range of therapeutic educational programs and services. Lakeside School is currently serving 30 school districts in Bucks, Chester and Montgomery counties. Lakeside’s approach empowers students to realize their life goals and to become positive citizens in their communities. The scope of its programs include educational and clinical services to meet a variety of needs including but not limited to: emotional and/or behavioral issues, addictions, school anxiety, truancy, depression, pregnancy and parenting and the impact of trauma.
In addition to its multiple campuses where students in grades 5-12 are enrolled, Lakeside also provides training for professionals including trauma-informed systems, anger/violence prevention and early childhood education. Lakeside also offers professional development for schools, both locally and around the world, who wish to develop trauma informed practices for the students they are working with.
