Joseph's Catering Family Says Goodbye In Horsham

HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA —With the Horsham Road property finally having a new use for its future, the family of Joseph's Catering took to social media this week to say goodbye.

The Messina Family posted on Facebook to thank "everyone who we have had the pleasure of serving over the past five decades."

The Horsham Township Council gave final approval last week for the development of the Joseph's Catering property after a decade of proposals.

Preliminary/final approval was granted to a plan to build a self-storage facility at 901 Horsham Road on the parcel next to Hatboro-Horsham High School.

The Messina family said that Joseph’s Catering officially opened its doors to the public more than five decades ago.

"What started out as a small family business, has since grown exponentially over the years and that would not have been possible without you —the community," the Messina family said.

"From countless weddings, birthdays, milestone celebrations, and gatherings, Joseph’s has had the privilege of playing an important part in creating wonderful memories with you and your loved ones. We would like to thank everyone for your continued love and support over the years," the family stated. "Now the time has come for us to officially close our doors. From our family to yours, we would like to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts."

Artist renderings show a three-story, 120,000-square-foot building, which sits on 5.68 acres, that will look to motorists driving by like an office building.

The facility will be for personal storage with businesses prohibited from storing equipment and such. Street lamps will also be added along Horsham Road from Babylon Road to the far end of the high school property.

"Thank you so much, Joseph's Catering," Horsham Township posted on its Facebook page. "You were a big part of our community for over 50 years. Not only were you a local business, but you were also township residents and big supporters of our community. We will miss you but wish you a well-deserved, happy retirement."
