KVMS Holds National Junior Honor Society Induction

National Junior Honor Society chapter of Keith Valley Middle School inducts new members and elects new officers.

The National Junior Honor Society chapter of Keith Valley Middle School, which was founded in 2014, held its induction of new members on June 4. The ceremony, honoring nearly 70 7th graders, was held in the school's auditorium and featured presenters that included chapter President Grace Kohler, Vice President Lydia Nolan, Secretary Martine Royds, Treasurer Alice Hall, Historian Jillian Miller and Community Outreach Officer Aiden Scattergood. The event also featured keynote addresses from Hatboro-Horsham High School Class President David Park and Eighth Grade Assistant Principal John Ewerth.

Keith Valley's NJHS chapter leads and participates in several community service initiatives throughout the year with organizations like Mitzvah Circle Foundation, Jewish Relief Agency and Hatboro-Horsham School District's "When I Grow Up" Career Expo, to name a few.

Keith Valley's chapter also held elections of its officers for the coming school year. The newly-elected officers who will oversee the chapter during the 2018-2019 school year include:

Founded in 1929, National Junior Honor Society is a nationwide organization that honors students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. Students are accepted into membership by the school's NJHS Faculty Review Council after meeting the organization's requirements and illustrating a deep commitment to the five pillars of the organization.
