Man Charged For Assaulting Hatboro Police Officers

Scott Myers was pulled over on Wednesday on an active warrant out of Delaware, Hatboro Police said.

HATBORO, PA — A man faces multiple charges after being pulled over by police and found with an active warrant in Delaware, and then assaulting police officers trying to arrest him, police said.

The Hatboro Borough Police Department at 12:03 p.m. on Wednesday pulled over a vehicle for a traffic stop.

Police found that 38-year-old Scott Myers was wanted on an active warrant in Delaware. Police did not say what charges he faced there.

As police officers tried to take Myers into custody, he immediately shifted the vehicle into drive and tried to escape while the officer was partially in the open driver's window.

The vehicle became disabled, and Myers then physically resisted and assaulted the officers who tried to place him in handcuffs. The officers were eventually able to gain control of Myers.

Myers was charged with aggravated assault on police, disarming a law enforcement officer, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, simple assault, resisting arrest, and recklessly endangering another person.

Myers was arraigned and sent to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility for not being able to post bail. Myers will appear before District Justice Todd Stephens in the near future.
