Man Found With Drugs, Illegal Gun In Horsham Hotel: PD

A 36-year-old man faces charges after Horsham Police responded to a call about suspicious activity at a township hotel in June.

HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — A 36-year-old man faces weapons and drug charges after allegedly being found in a township hotel with them in June, police said.

The Horsham Township Police Department responded to suspicious activity reported at an unnamed township hotel on June 18.

Horsham Police encountered Anthony Smith and recovered a small quantity of suspected illegal drugs from him.

Police officers then obtained and executed a search warrant for Smith’s vehicle.

The search resulted in the recovery of a loaded, operable handgun that Smith was prohibited by law from possessing.

Officers also recovered additional suspected illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, and other items consistent with the sale and distribution of controlled substances.

Smith was charged with offenses related to the possession of controlled substances, possession with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, and unlawful possession of a firearm.

He appeared on Thursday for a preliminary hearing, where all charges were held for higher court.
