Police Officer Had Sex With Girl, 17, In Horsham Home: DA
Jordan Jones, an Abington police officer, faces sexual assault charges of the girl as a school resource officer, authorities said.

HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA —A 29-year-old Horsham man faces felony charges for having sex with an underage girl at his township home while serving on the Abington police force and as a high school resource officer, authorities said.
Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele announces the arrest of Jordan Jones, 29, of Horsham, Tuesday on felony charges of Institutional Sexual Assault, Endangering the Welfare of Children and Corruption of Minors.

The Montgomery County Detective Bureau received information on Monday about a sexual assault by a school resource officer at Abington High School.
School officials had reported the assault to Abington Township Police after a 17-year-old female student disclosed to a school counselor that she had been having a sexual relationship with Jones since last November.

The girl disclosed that she and Jones had met numerous times and engaged in sexual
activity at his home in Horsham.
Jones, a full-time officer with Abington Township Police Department, has been placed on administrative leave with intent to dismiss per protocol.
Jones was arrested this morning by Montgomery County Detectives.
He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge John D. Kessler, who set bail at $50,000 unsecured, with conditions of no contact with the victim/her family, no unsupervised contact with minors and he may not to return to the school.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 11 a.m., Feb. 21 before Magisterial District Judge Juanita Price.
The Abington Police Department said Jones served as a school resource officer since February 2021.
The Abington School District issued a statement about Jones:
"It is with great concern that we share that Abington Township Police Officer Jordan Jones, who is contracted as the School Resource Officer at Abington Senior High School, was taken into police custody today after allegedly engaging in an inappropriate relationship with a student. He has been criminally charged with five counts of institutional sexual assault, endangering the welfare of children, and corruption of minors," school officials said. "We are taking this matter very seriously and are cooperating fully with the investigation, which is being conducted by the Montgomery County Detective Bureau."
Any students or staff with information that might be relevant to their investigation are encouraged to contact Montgomery County Detective Walt Kerr at 610-278-3036, or Abington Detective Sergeant Troy Hummel at 267-536-1111. Officer Jones is prohibited from all Abington School District property, effective immediately.
"The well-being and safety of our students and staff are of paramount importance. In the absence of a School Resource Officer, District Administration will provide additional coverage and resources for Abington Senior High School, including having counselors on hand to support any students or staff members who may be having difficulties processing this news," school officials stated.
