A California man, who said his grandmother was murdered in Horsham by her brother in 1963, is trying to piece together what happened.

John Alan Ueland told the Horsham Preservation and Historical Association that his grandmother, who was named Emma or Elizabeth Berger, was shot in the neck on April 15, 1963.

Berger, whose maiden name was Griffith, died from her wounds two days later, according to Ueland.

The murder was committed by Berger’s own brother, Ueland said.

Berger’s husband, John, died just a few months later of a stroke, according to Ueland, and their house and land were taken by the bank.

“ANY information on these people or events would be great,” Ueland said.

Ueland is seeking information behind the motives to the crime, what happened to the suspect, and other information about his family.

He currently resides in Thousand Oaks, California.

The Historical Association said they did not have any further information about the incident, and was asking the public for help.
