Man Shot, Killed Inside Montgomery County Home: DA

A man was shot and killed inside a home in Montgomery County over the weekend, authorities said.

HATFIELD, PA — Authorities are investigating an apparent shooting homicide that occurred inside a Hatfield Township home over the weekend, they announced on Sunday.

The incident took place on Saturday, July 22 at 11:46 p.m. on the 2400 block of East Orvilla Road, the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office said.

There was a "disturbance" in the house, police said, followed by gunfire. The person who police said shot the victim then called 911.

When authorities arrived on the scene, a 31-year-old man was found dead, the DA's office said. The shooter remained at the home until police arrived.

Police have not commented further on the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The incident remains under investigation and no arrests have been made, authorities said.

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of the family. An autopsy took place at the Montgomery County Coroner's Office on Sunday.

No charges have been filed as of early Monday.
