Marvin Zimmel, 90, World War II Veteran
Marvin Zimmel of Hatboro was the beloved husband of Delphine Zimmel, with whom he had shared more than 68 years of marriage.

Marvin A. Zimmel of Hatboro passed away Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014, at the Abington Hospice at Warminster. He was 90.
Marvin was the beloved husband of Delphine (Lassen) Zimmel, with whom he had shared more than 68 years of marriage. He was born in Sioux Falls, S.D., a son of the late Walter M. and Edith M. Zimmel.
Marvin was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving during World War II on the USS New Jersey and was a member of the VFW Mason Dixon Post 7234 in Ocean View, Del., Willow Grove Post 3612, and a member of the American Legion Liberty Post 308 in Willow Grove. He was also a member of the Laurel Lodge No. 237 F. & A.M., Cassia-Mt. Horeb Lodge No. 273 F. & A.M., Rotary Club of Springfield Township and the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors. Marvin also was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing.

In addition to his wife, Marvin is survived by a daughter, Carol J. Zimmel and two brothers-in-law, Robert Lassen and his wife, Shirl and Richard Lassen and his wife, Nancy and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Tuesday, Nov. 4, in Schneider Funeral Home, 431 N. York Road, Hatboro after 10 a.m., followed by his funeral service at 11 a.m. His entombment will follow in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Horsham Township.

In lieu of flowers memorials in Marvin’s memory may be made to the Abington Hospice at Warminster, 225 Newtown Road, 3rd Floor, Warminster, PA 18974.
