Montco Cancer Scammer Facing New Theft Charges

A Montgomery County woman who was sentenced for a fake cancer scam is facing more charges, according to reports.
Alicia Tolton, 30, of Upper Moreland was found guilty of lying to friends about having cancer and stealing money from them through a fundraiser in 2010.
The Intelligencer reported Tolton was in court last week on theft charges filed by North Wales police. The charges are in violation of her probation, the publication reported.

Tolton allegedly stole $1,697 from Mid-County Cab Company in North Wales, the Pottstown Mercury reported.
The owner of Mid-County Cab Company reported in June that more than two dozen envelopes containing cash went missing from a drop box that cab drivers put money in at the end of the shift, according to the Mercury. Surveillance video showed Tolton, who was employed there during parole, taking the envelopes.

In 2010, Tolton pushed a “Wishes for Alicia” organization to solicit as much as $1,000 in donations because she said she was suffering from cancer. Authorities determined she was lying about the illness and charges were pressed.
